Oliver's Twenty-Eighth Week

Posted by Amy Evelyn Oden , Thursday, February 19, 2015 6:15 PM

This boy gets around!  Having mastered the art of rolling to get places, he's now started getting up on his hands & knees as if he were going to crawl, as well as pulling himself forward army-crawl style with his arms.

We got a great indoor/outdoor playpen this week, which our outdoor lovin' boy is thrilled about, and so are we since it keeps him safe from the crazy hockey stick wielding child in the background...er, his sister...

Oliver tried his first "real" food this week: avocado!

Seems to like it!
We discovered this week that Oliver's a big Mickey Mouse fan.  He will always turn & look when the Clubhouse theme song or the Hot Dog Dance song comes on, and will often stare at the screen when the show is playing.  (Yes, I let my baby look at the television...)
Very Wheaton-y boy

Sometimes Big Sister comes to play inside the playpen, too...

Sweet smiles!

Oliver Patrick: Six Months Old

Posted by Amy Evelyn Oden , 5:51 PM

Our little sailor is already half a year old!  He's very busy teething and trying out new methods of getting from place to place and laughing and smiling and happy-babbling.  He's a bit too busy during the night, too, for Mama's taste, but sleep will come in time, so I'm trying to soak up all the baby-cuteness that will be gone far too fast.

At his 6 month check-up, he weighed in at 18.8 lbs and measured 27 1/4" and is doing great on all the developmental markers!  We thank God for such a happy, healthy little guy.

Oliver's Twenty-Seventh Week

Posted by Amy Evelyn Oden , 5:49 PM

Oliver's 27th week, also known as Mama Has A Cruel, Cruel Sore Throat week, which led to little photo taking (and little good parenting, for that matter).  But he seems to have survived, with all his cuteness intact...

Finally quite fond of sitting...and still quite fond of Thor

He loves bath time (too bad I forget to do them more often)
Cheering up sick Mama
We busted out the go-pod and he loves it!

Our rock star is 27 weeks old!

Oliver's Twenty-Sixth Week

Like usual, a warm January so we get outside as much as we can (this is actually as opposed to summer when it's TOO HOT!).  I really shouldn't complain, but this Oregonian likes a bit of seasonal change from time to time.  And yet, in O's case, an out-of-doors baby is a happy baby...

We're still going to wear wintry pajamas, though...

 Sister Snuggles
All smiles for 26 weeks of life (and more progress towards independent sitting)!

Oliver's Twenty-Fifth Week

Posted by Amy Evelyn Oden , Monday, February 16, 2015 9:11 PM

During his 25th week, Oliver uttered his first official - not word exactly - but repeated sound, "Uh-duh!"  Once it came out, he spent large portions of his days saying it again and again, much to the entertainment of his doting family.  He also rolls everywhere and amazes us by being so quickly on the other side of the room (and into whatever thing he's probably not supposed to have that's over there).

Our little monkey :-)

Sunday morning smiles with big sister

 Stripes!

 First rice crackers!

Not terribly interested in sitting, but will humor Mama from time to time
