Oliver Patrick: Two Point Five

Our little guy is 2 1/2 already! His favorite things are milk, not finishing any meals, Creative Galaxy, Goldie & Bear, Paw Patrol, his family, changing his clothes throughout the day (usually from one set of pajamas to another), reading books, dancing, randomly making very big deals out of very little things, singing the Doxology, giving lots of hugs and kisses, and telling stories in which his brain is moving faster than his current vocabulary.

He has some pretty incredible manual dexterity, doing things that Vianne doesn't even do (though I'm starting to suspect she's just gotten away with handing them over to me for a little too long now) - like buttoning shirts and lacing velcro shoe straps through their holes.  He's very determined about these things and never wants help, even if he's struggling.

Some of his favorite things to say are, "I can do whatever I want!" and "I want one [something]. Only one, not two," he likes to clarify for us.

He definitely can switch on Terrible Two without a moment's notice, but for the most part, he's such a sweet, thoughtful, hilarious little person that the joy he brings us far, far outweighs any stress. Every day we feel like we get these glimpses of the little boy he's becoming and whisper goodbye to more of the baby he's been. He's constantly surprising us with what he knows and what he remembers and he loves to snuggle in bed and talk & laugh in the morning, which usually makes for a pretty sweet start to any given day.

And, let's face it, he really couldn't be any cuter...
