Mother's Day 2016

We had a very sweet Mother's Day weekend this year, with Patrick's family visiting from SoCal and great food and some spoiling on the agenda. At church, they regaled the mothers with chocolate & fun stickers & a photo booth. I felt well-loved!
A little later in the week, we took a day trip up to Auburn, CA, as well, a gold mining town we'd been wanting to check out for some time now, for additional spoiling.
We finished the tour up the other side of Main Street & then headed home. Always good to get out & explore a bit (even though the end vote was that Auburn wasn't all that we'd hoped, truth be told).

Ended the day with a stroll over to the park

We toured the Placer County Museum in the historic courthouse...
...and did a little window shopping.
It sounds like there are many great choices as far as restaurants up there, but we decided to try out Bootlegger's Old Town Tavern & Grill and had a delightful dining experience...
crab cake starter, yum!
Oliver was pretty enthralled with having his own cup.
